In 2013, I visited Paso Robles and Denner Cellars interested in the wines of Anthony Yount. After meeting minds like Chris Brockway and Duncan Arnot years earlier, I was enthralled with what was happening out west especially, where you least expected it. I was greeted by Anthony and we tasted through good wines that paid the bills. I then asked him about his personal project and we headed to the cellar. Anthony's whites were stunning: made with moderate levels of sulphur, indigenous yeasts, and nothing but grape juice. Precise, pristine, impeccable, and a reflection of where California could go when studious individuals like Anthony get their hands on great quality fruit.
